Circle Safety
Hillside Circle Safety Guidelines
Here are some helpful tips for the next time you Drop Off and Pick Up your child
1. Pull all the way up to the end of the circle. DO NOT STOP in the the middle of the circle. Make sure to pull up to the car in front of you, so there is no large gap between cars.
2. DO NOT get out of your car. Please practice opening and closing a seatbelt and car doors with your child. If your child should need assistance please pull to the first spot after the custodial driveway. Here, you may assist your child.
3. DO NOT walk your child into school during drop off hours. You must remain with your car.
4. DO NOT let your child exit from the driver’s side. This is extremely dangerous and puts your child and drivers behind you at risk.
5. Wait for the car in front of you to leave first. Trying to move around them may cause an accident and cause a jam in the circle. Stay within the lane.
6. If you need more time to say your goodbyes, give a snuggle or have a conversation with your child, please park at the pool parking lot and walk your child to school.
7. If your child has a large cumbersome instrument or project, please pull up to the first spot available after the custodial driveway. There will be enough room for other cars to move around you. If there is a car in the instrument drop off spot, you may pass them. USE CAUTION when doing so.
8. This is not the time for conversation with teachers aides, parents or your child. Please move the circle along.
9. During Circle Pick-Up, DO NOT cut the line. DO NOT drive in to oncoming traffic, in order to get in front of others.
10. Show RESPECT to other drivers and staff members. Your child’s safety is most important to all of us.
