Hillside PTSA & SEPTA Information Folder

SEPTA Welcomes Every Hastings-on-Hudson Family!

We can build a community to support all learners, together.

Differentiated learning and instruction benefits everyone. By joining the Hastings Special Education Parent Teacher Association (SEPTA), you show your support for parents, teachers and administrators that are working to support each and every learner. We advocate for curriculum, professional development, technology, and initiatives that help our schools teach to every child. We believe that when a school district can support children with IEPs, 504s and different learning styles, they can better support all children.

For parents, we provide a strong community of support. Our goal is to help both new and experienced families in Special Education navigate the system and connect with others. We provide workshops and information so every parent can advocate for their child with confidence.

Together, we can promote an inclusive environment that opens the door to addressing the needs of all learners. We welcome ALL members of our Hastings community – parents and educators – to join us. Your membership will grow our numbers and keep our mission strong.

Advocacy in Action: Our Programs and Initiatives build community conversations at HHS, FMS and Hillside. Parents, teachers and administrators continue to come together through Zoom calls multiple times a year to discuss topics and issues related to children with 504s, IEPs and different learning styles.

Communication: Our Board meets regularly with the Administration and Board of Education to advocate for needs, concerns and opportunities on behalf of parents.

Educational Audit Support Network: We seek to bring together parents in an empathetic community. Many of us are certified CSE/CPSE Parent Members, have experience with specific classifications/diagnoses, understand your experience, and are ready to help.

Educational Grants and Programs: With money raised at our fundraisers, we offer two generous graduating senior scholarship awards. We also give teacher grants for various items.

YES - I support each and every child in our school district!
